Sunbathing Beauty

Posted by Joe Deegan (Waterville, ME, United States) on 1 June 2008 in Animal & Insect.

This is a black ratsnake, or Elaphe Obsoleta. I saw him (her?) sunbathing during a hike I took today over some abandoned river locks.

It's been a good weekend. Most of it was spent doing yard work and making the most of home life. I got in touch with my Slovak language tutor, and we expect to begin next week.
