More Door

Posted by Joe Deegan (Waterville, ME, United States) on 1 September 2008 in Cityscape & Urban.

This is a crop of the graffiti-covered door I posted a few days ago, done to show the ISO signs and other detail.

It’s weird to think about, but I’m beginning to realize that for all the people around me, my whole life is kind of fictional. This isn’t to say I’m a liar. Rather, it’s just all so thinly constituted. Besides what I have to say, there seems little connecting this exiled English teacher with his point of origin. My past and my future are made entirely of language, with the real antecedent people and places so out of reach as to render the question of verifiable ‘truth’ moot.

I’ve been watching too much Hitchcock!

It’s Labor Day. I think I’m going to have a beer.
